She is a highly experienced development and operations expert with over 16 years technical experience in academic, development, non-profit, and commercial organizations such as Nyumbani Children’s Home, Ananda Maga Universal Relief Team (South Sudan), Old Mutual, and Agricultural Cooperative Development International and Volunteers in Overseas Cooperative Assistance (ACDI/VOCA & ASI). She has served as a Lecturer at Moi University and a motivational speaker in various forums.

Esther Kinuthia

Esther Kinuthia is a young, inspirational Digital Expert based in Dublin Ireland. She has experience working at Google, Facebook and recently graduated from Trinity Business School with a Masters Degree in Digital Marketing Strategy. She runs a youth motivational blog known as Miss Independent Blog where her mission is to Inform, Inspire and Ignite the African youth. She is also the Co-Founder of Young Kenyans in Tech, a Community that unites sharp, youth techies in Kenya to collaborate on job and entrepreneurship-related conversations. Rev. Dr. Weche is the Founder & CEO of Akad Education Group – Africa, a capacity building, Social Enterprise organisation providing mentorship and value-based leadership training to youth for academic & career success.
He is ordained by the Anglican Church of Kenya for Education Ministry. Exemplary AKAD youth leaders are regularly featured in the Kenyan national media; press, radio and TV as seen by clicking here. He has twice been invited as a speaker-panelist at Harvard Business School (HBS) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, USA, as well as HEC MBA Paris, France.

He was Managing Director of Leruo Services (Pty) Ltd (Botswana), the largest supplier of veterinary products to Government of Botswana for 15 years. He has been Continuous Professional Development Manager, Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and Assistant Complex Manager, Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) in Galana, Kenya with worldwide networks in 10 African countries, Europe, USA, Middle & Far East (China).

Academically, Rev. Dr. Weche is a PhD candidate in Leadership & Management candidate, and holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree from DeMontfort University (UK); Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Nairobi, with graduate studies in Dispute Resolution (UMass, Boston), Negotiation (PON – Harvard Law School), Governance (NIST), Financial Management (Strayer University, USA) Mediation certificate (MMS, Boston). He is has been a Sensei and Discipler for over 30 years, and is the published author of “Conflict and Deception in Relationships and Marriage”, published on Amazon.com..

Lilyanne Ndinda

National Programme Coordinator (PROSPECTS), at the International Labour Organization

Lilyanne has over 10 years experience as a development practitioner working on sustainable livelihoods and social economic inclusion; and currently working on promoting decent work and social inclusion for refugees and host communities in Kenya. She had developed and managed projects in both rural and urban areas in Kenya and is particularly experienced in women empowerment, social protection, urban development, building resilience for vulnerable populations, market systems and value chains development, and enterprise development.Lilyanne is a champion for women voices and actively challenges practices that sustain gender inequalities and elevate patriachy; and is an ardent promoter of women inclusion in social, economic, and political spaces. She firmly believes that given the opportunity, women and girls have capacity to contirbute significantly to all sectors of development. When not engaging with civil society, Lilyanne enjoys working with Kenyan artisans to design and produce fashion goods. She strongly believes that trading fairly has potential to reduce poverty, and restore human dignity to all. Mwanahamisi Hamadi is a media personality currently working as a news anchor/producer at Citizen TV.
Mwanahamisi is the Producer of the popular mwanamke bomba show which features women who have made a difference in the society.
She has been awarded for efforts to empower women through the Mwanamke Bomba show.

Wavi Mungala, a seasoned Communication & Customer Experience Specialist, is current the Head of Corporate Communication and Customer Experience at the Higher Education Loans Board [HELB]. A role which encompasses PR, Brand Marketing and Customer Experience.

She holds a BSc. Hotel Management from USIU-Africa and a MSc. Management from Friends University, Wichita KS USA, a Program for Management Development [PMD] executive education certification from Strathmore Business School [SBS], Kenya and a Certified Customer Journey Architect. She has over 15 years’ experience in communication and customer experience across the hospitality industry [The Marriott Hotels, US], banking sector [KCB Bank, Kenya] and now in Public Sector [HELB].

Weru is the Executive Director & Lead Consultant at Ultimate Management Solutions. He also serves as an associate consultant in finance, risk management and leadership at Kenya School of Monetary Studies, Kenya Institute of Bankers, Metropol Corporation and Blue League Consulting.

He has over 22 years’ experience mainly in banking and microfinance. During his banking career he held senior management positions in banking operations, trade finance, credit and training. He has been involved in consulting, training and capacity building for the past 11 years which include holding the role of Training Manager at Equity Bank between 2008 and 2010. He has also worked as a trainer in Entrepreneurship, Leadership, risk management, Banking Operations, Credit and International Trade Finance at Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Co-operatives, Kenya School of Monetary Studies, Kenya Institute of bankers and Metropol Corporation amongst others.

Weru has been involved in strategy development, risk audits, policy and procedure development personal financial counselling and training. He has worked with clients in the cooperative movement as well as Alliance for Green Revolution of Africa and International Fund for Agricultural Development.

Weru has worked as a part-time tutor and examiner specializing in lending and trade finance at Kenya Institute of Bankers since 2003 as well as part-time lecturer in business leadership and banking at Cooperative University of Kenya, PAC University, Management University of Africa and University of Sunderland @ Intel College.

Weru is a PhD candidate at Management University of Africa. He holds Master of Arts in Leadership (Business & Entrepreneurship) from Pan Africa Christian University and BSc in Financial Services from the University of Manchester’s Institute of Science & Technology. On 28th July 2020, she and Joan Nekoye hosted an AKAD Gap Year Online Session on The Imposter Syndrome and Personal Branding. She presented what she learnt on Personal Branding through research.

Mental health is a vital matter that most of the world doesn’t does treat with the seriousness it requires.This leads to increase of suicide rates that are especially high amongst teenagers. To help tackle the matter she aspires to create a Mental Health Organization specializing in helping teenagers from ages 13 to 19 with anxiety, depression and schizophrenia disorders.
She is also a certified member of the Brigade Members of St John Ambulance Kenya First Aid.
At Mount Kenya Academy she was awarded for exceptional leadership in areas of responsibility: she was the talent coordinating and class prefect. She was part of the Mount Kenya Academy school band where she played the alto saxophone. Her love and passion for football and tennis enabled her to attain medals, certificates and a trophy for her sportsmanship during interschool tournaments.
At Viraj International Academy she and her friends formed a singing group that performed during assemblies events such as talent shows and cultural shows. Additionally, at International Christian Centre Imara she is the Praise and Worship leader of the teen’s church.

Founder and Group chairman of CAES International LTD

David Kariuki is United Nations Security Council Chair at the Kenya Model United Nations; a student run, youth led, non-governmental organization affiliated to the United Nations Information Centre with a student base of more than 1,000. He is also an Associate, brand ambassador, and peer mentor at AKAD AFRICA under Dr. Rev Julius Weche. He has appeared on national Television aside his mentor discussing various matters.

David also volunteers at the Kenya National Chambers of Commerce and Industry as a Youth focal Point. He currently chairs the Economic diplomacy youth sub-committee at the Chambers where he is leading a team towards a policy document that shall help include youth in international trade. He successfully planned and executed a youth geared event with KNCCI in 2020 on the International Youth Day. This event brought awareness to opportunities for youth in business and attracted in excess of 762 youth across the region.

He equally volunteers as a youth executive in Narc-Kenya where together with other youth, advises on policy matters and inclusion.
David is also the Founder and Group chairman of CAES International, a company that is leading Kenya and the region in efforts towards electric mobility. David is currently at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa pursuing a bachelor’s degree in political Science and International Relations;

He recently got admitted into the Watson Institute in the United States for a 4-month Social Entrepreneurship course in the fall of 2021 on a scholarship worth $17,500/ KES 1,925,875. His life philosophy is “Strong to serve.”

Nyanchama Ataya

Nyanchama Ataya, a former student of Loreto Convent Valley Road, is an
associate of a mentorship programme called AKAD Education Group Africa. She is also a swimmer who has participated in national and international competitions receiving various awards. She runs a fitness program called Mindful Health and Body Fitness that has a goal to help people be accountable for their fitness journeys which in turn teaches consistency. She is currently exploiting her ideas on a couple of art projects like designing a kitchen and dining room which enable
her to apply her creativity freely.
