The Gender Rights Network is dedicated to addressing the physical, social, and systemic impacts of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). The organization provides restorative surgeries for women who have suffered severe genital harm due to SGBV and FGM, ensuring they regain their dignity and well-being. It also conducts sensitization programs for police officers prior to their county deployments, equipping them with knowledge on prevention and effective response to these issues. Additionally, the Network trains national administrators such as chiefs and religious leaders, and works directly with communities to promote the progressive abandonment of FGM and raise awareness around SGBV. Their outreach includes engaging youth in the National Youth Service (NYS), educating them on sexual and reproductive health and fostering positive relationships. These efforts are delivered through structured activities such as lectures at police colleges, chief barazas, and interdenominational forums. The Network also takes a lead role in planning, organizing, and securing funding for both community awareness programs and life-changing surgical interventions.
